The mission of Haphire is reduce recidivism within communities globally. In an effort to assist ex-offenders ("returning citizens") have better access to jobs, cities and states are increasingly enacting "ban the box" laws that force employers to stop asking applicants if they have been arrested or convicted of crimes prior to the first interview. Haphire seeks to build on this initiative by working with employers to reduce the risks and liabilities of hiring returning citizens. We do this by matching employers with tax incentives, federal bonding opportunities, and providing pre-employment training and assessment of potential candidates. For job seekers Haphire is the online community for returning citizens. Similar to LinkedIn, Haphire seeks to become the leading network for returning citizens to re-enter society, connect and share with similarly situated individuals, and further their career potential through online training opportunities.
